Are you curious to know, who invented sunglasses? Well for that you ought to read the complete article. Read on…

Today, wearing sunglasses is as necessary as wearing clothes, watches and shoes. Customers believe that a pair of shade is a necessity not an accessory. Centuries ago and till the early 90’s, sunglasses were worn by the individuals belonging to the elite class. In that era, a pair of shade symbolized opulence and wealth. An ordinary person couldn’t afford a sunglass at that time because the prices were too high.

Somewhere in the 12th century in China, the first pair of shades was fabricated for a very wealthy gentleman and that was made from a crude slab of smoke quartz. Over the years, the crude slab converted into a rough and raw shaped frame so that it could hold quartz when a user wore the same. In that period, these raw sunglasses were worn with an intention to block out the sun and not for style. Apart from these handy and undone sunglasses other items were also utilized to avert the sunrays but those items were more for the purpose of hiding emotional outpourings.

As time passed, the world witnessed the progression in the appearance and the structure of sunglasses. Circa 1400, sunglasses were introduced to Italians by the Chinese in a more darkened version of what they are now. The revolution in the field of sunglasses came about in the 18th century when a person named James Ayscough experimented with the sunglasses. His main agenda was to improve the vision of people with poor and failing eye sight. While doing the experiment, he was sure that he will attain his goal by changing the colour of the lenses.

But the sunglasses received the requisite recognition in 1920’s when Hollywood celebrities began wearing them on every occasion.
